I found myself in sweet adoration of a beautiful August summer day. I sat in the sage wicker chair with my feet lifted comfortably onto the seat next to me.The wind gently brushed against my face as the sun peeked between the rustling leaves of the shade tree reminding me of my wonderful creator.
Some of the leaves have already begun to fall from the trees and have turned a light shade of yellow. I sat in quietness watching these leaves flutter and fall to and fro. Some leaves fell to the ground faster than others and yet some seemed to want the ride to never end being swept up and down in the brisk breeze. Yet in the end they all fell gently landing to the soft cushion of the grass.
Sometimes as moms we seem to flutter about, much like the falling leaves, preoccupied with the business of life. School is about to start and the mad dash is on to get all accomplished before the school bus arrives for the first day. But then it doesn't stop there as mom's taxi kicks in with endless stops to and from the school for practice and games. The dinner hour is longer than an hour as you make and reheat meals for husbands and children who arrive at different times. And let's not forget the endless homework and packing lunches.
But remember even in the business....to stop and watch the leaves flutter and fall to and fro. Please take the time to sit in the quietness of a moment and feel the breeze against your cheek as that of a gentle nudge from our heavenly Father to spend some time with him. You will feel refreshed and rest in the peace of our Savior.
