Thanks for the response to the photo. The only reason I posted it, was because I cherished those friends. And, I want people to understand how fragile live is and to appreciate those around them.

I will be happy to send her an email with your request. She is out of town for the summer, but she loves to share information! The only thing I remember about our conversation was Protein! I remember he comments regarding diet and that most of the kids eat high sugar cereals for breakfast which she blieves affects the ADHD. That if the diet is high in protein, the ADHD improves. I would suggest doing an internet search on Diets for ADHD. And making sure you have a pediatrican that truely understands ADHD. So many times children are misdiagnosed. I noticed from your pics that you live on a farm. There is a website: Drforrester.com that you might want to visit. He doesn't treat ADHD, but I believe his book discusses other causes for it. He isn't a pediatrican, but a specialist in other areas.

I write about anything that comes to mind. You can read the two blogs that I posted a few days ago on my page. Thanks for asking!

Protein! A friend of mine has researched ADHD for years. She found that most children with ADHD eat cereal every morning and they eat very little protein. She believes that a rich in protein is great for improvingt ADHD.

I want to thank everyone for their comments and compassion. I have been in such a deep depression that has been getting worse with each passing day and reading what you have to say, knowing that I don't have to go thru this alone has been like an answered prayer. I have felt like such a failure as a mom because I can't seem to do everything that needs to be done just on a regular basis anyway, but then to throw in the fact that Michael needs so much more of my time and attention I just can't keep up. I had run out of ideas on how to help him and didn't know where else to go. You have all been wonderful and a great support. I pray that I can ask for your continued support as my family and I try to work thru this. Thank you so much.

Christina,
I have also gone through some times of depression in my life. I too have a child with special needs...this child just thinks and sees the world a little differently...she has autism. She was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome (high functioning Autism) almost a year and a half ago. It was devastating at the time, but God has seen me and my family through thus far and has enabled us to help others. Cry out to the Lord...pray to Him...He give us peace which surpasses all understanding. I'll be praying for you!

I'd be happy to help as much as I can. How old is Michael again? I'll be looking for more information.

Christina,

I'm so glad you've found Celebrate Moms. And I can identify with your current description. I'm slowly emerging from a deep, dark pit of depression. It's not fun and it's hard to explain to others. Everything on the outside can look so bright and cheery, while the inside is filled with darkness.

Hang in there, it can and will get better. It's a process and we often have to turn outside ourselves and our own resources to start healing...but it can happen.

Please let me know if I can do anything for you.

Blessings,
Melissa

Profile Information

Here is a description of my perfect day...
I am thankful to just wake up every day.
When I grow up I want to be a...
children's book writer. Watching kids get excited and seeing their eyes light up listening to a book they enjoy would be so fulfilling to me.
Five words that describe me best are...
still depressed and stressed, but hopeful, trying to get motivated, and taking one day at a time.
To relax, I.....
read and do Sudoku puzzles.
Oh, and I have a family, too. They are.....
My husband Greg and my 3 beautiful children are: Sophia 10, Michael 6, and AJ 4.

I've learned....That the Lord didn't do it all in one day What makes me think I can?
