Charleen,

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I'm sure it is a great loss to you. I thank the Lord for the time He gave you to spend with her in her last days. I will pray that God comfort you during this time of mourning, but also I pray He gives you moments of rejoicing knowing your mom is with her sweet King Jesus!

Love and Prayers,
Shannon "J"

My dear,
My prayer for you is peace in your mourning. Jenna's mom e mailed me this morning. Jenna is the little 20 month old girl that passed away and that I am doing a sculpture for. She commented on something my daughter said in our podcast . I thought would share it with you.

"Last thing, I did have a chance to listen to your podcast. I've only gotten through one, but something your daughter said resonated with me. She was talking about when something happens as it does to all of us at some point and how the pieces of our life can seem to just fall all over the place and instead of trying to put it or make it like it was before, that maybe this is where we are suppose to be to grow. I can't remember her exact words, but what she said was so where I am. I feel like my whole world that I knew
just kind of exploded and little familiar pieces are everywhere but nothing is like it use to be, and I guess the new struggle is accepting this new place and growing and adjusting rather than fighting it to make it like before. So maybe you can just let her know that her words did touch someone and made me kind of think of where I am a little bit differently.
Thanks,"

I hope this helps. I will be praying. I am so sorry for your loss!

Thanks for the wonderful comments on my work. I love what I do, being able to help people through the grieving process with my art. I'm also goad you liked the videos. I hope you have a chance to listen to the podcasts. I'm interested to see what others think.

I'm near the heights area, and my studio is behind the house. YOu must stop by. Bring your son, he will love the pond and turtles in m y back yard. Neurologist- are you not well? I'm also curious because the brain, and neurology is something I like to read about.

My first priority was a trip to the neurologist. I am not really a painter - my first degree was in art. I dropped it for years... then, my son and I started painting together about a year ago. I use his handprints and footprints. It's childlike art with adult colors. It's different. I find that the prints turn out better than the original! There is a really good printer outside of Houston. So, we dropped them off in Texas City. OH! the website, it's named after the first painting! I am working on it. I believe that I will probably have it up and running by August. I have a name for it, but I am praying for God to inspire me to develop it! I want it to incorporate writing (blogging), art, creating, and speaking. It's an outlet! I really love your sculptures. I only remember learning some basics with clay when I was in high school. I never took sculpting in college. But, I really really liked it! I have always wanted one the children sculptures for my lawn, with a fountain..etc.. Everytime, we see them, I always look for the perfect one. I haven't found the right one for me yet. Maybe it's because God's timing wasn't right. That is so awesome that you can create them! After I dropped off the paintings, I stopped by the park off of Tx. 146. My son is 3. He loved it! I am not sure, when I will drive back over to Houston to pick up the paintings. I am scheduled for another appointment in November. I am hoping to pick up the paintings sooner. I have one in progress now, that I would like to complete.

Where in the Houston area do you live? Do you work out of your house? I have tried to listen to your video, but I can't get the volume to work. I am going to try it on my labtop.

Would your friend be interested in talking with me? I would love more insight on ADHD and what is best to do for my son. Knowledge is power and I feel the more I know the better I can help him.

Also, I see you are a writer...What do you write about?

Praise God for His Angels of Protection

In the last few years, I have faced so many challenges, each one is a chapter within itself! We could go back as far as Hurricane Katriana (or farther), then Rita (or farther). but that gives you a general sense of life on the edge of how God's Grace has protected us. However, The date that stands out the most as a life changing event is December of 2006. After William and I were Hospitalized, my employer - LEHMAN Brothers, basically forced me on the FMLA to protect my job. At first, I had the t… Continue

The Mountain of Messes.

What do you do when your three year old spills his bowl of dry cereal? It happens so quick, do you ever think about your reaction? Today, I was handing my son a bowl of dry cereal to snack on. Just getting him to eat breakfast is a challenge. He saw the cereal and snatched it out of my hand, it landed on his lap and the sofa. He simply stated "I made a mess." My response, "it's not always the mess that we make, but how we clean it up."

For a moment, I thought I was sharing a little motherly wis… Continue

Thanking God for Restoring Job's Life

What is it about Job that gives us hope? For years, I have listened to sermons about Job, recieved words of encouragement from fellow Christians regarding Job's trials and tribulations. He's a landmark for those of us who experience the struggles of life. But, it wasn't until one day I read the last verse. The very last verse...where God restored Job's life. Unknown to my concious mind... in a split second.. I thanked God for restoring Job's life.

Why did I thank God for restoring Job's life? I… Continue

.."Your Lips are Like the Pen of a Ready Writer.." Psalms 45:1

The past few years of my life have been ones of great transitions! As a life long christian, I face these challenges and transitions with caution and embrace them with courage. My strength comes from the Lord and he has kept his promises throughout the trials and tribulations. However, so many changes, so many transitions, how do you adapt to an environment in which you had never planned or prepared. The simple statement, "as best as you can."

Where does the road go? Where does the journey end?… Continue
